Filipinos delicacies are well known even in different parts of the world and let me bring you to the streets of the Philippines and together let us taste the food that is found on the streets!


1. Palamig or Chilled drinks 
Palamig are often found in many streets and even in malls of the philippines so don't freak out if you see a large container that has colorful chilled liquid on it, this is the best remedy in a hot summer day in the Philippines the most common 'PALAMIG' Flavors are buko, buko salad, fruit salad, Melon, Pineapple, Ube macapuno, chocolate and Calamansi

2. Taho 
Taho is bean curd, sweet (but not too sweet) arnibal (liquefied raw sugar) and soft sago (tapioca balls). Carrying a contraption that consists of two large aluminium buckets specifically designed for taho and a long narrow wooden plank, where these two buckets hang on each end. The vendors herald "TAHOOOOOO!" while walking at a considerable pace along the sidewalk. The history of taho is not yet fully understood, but early records suggest that the delicacy is from China, adapted by Filipinos.

3. Ice Candy
Ice candy, known internationally as popsicle, is just frozen juice in a plastic, the end of which you nibble on to suck the ice candy. You can find them in different flavours. (buko  (coconut), mango, etc.)

4. Sorbetes/ Dirty Ice cream
Sorbetes, nicknamed dirty ice cream is just home made ice cream that is sold by street vendors pushing colourful carts.  It was probably called that way to differentiate it from the branded ice cream made by big international ice cream makers. 
Filipino dirty ice cream is a lot less creamy than most American ice creams, probably due to the use of less milk/cream and more water. You can get it in different flavours.

5. Camote cue and Banana Cue

They are one of the popular street foods in the Philippines wherein the banana or sliced sweet potato is coated with caramelized brown sugar and skewered in a bamboo stick. Some offers like turon also. Banana that are wrapped with a lumpia wrapper. These are mostly prepared in the late afternoon for the merienda or snacks.

6. SWEET CORN

sweet corn in philippines consists of Shredded Corn, cheese powder and margarine or butter it is often found on public places and even in malls

7. Manggang Hilaw at Bagoong alamang

Manggang hilaw or green mangoes topped with bagoong alamang is a very delicious food found in every place of philippines the mango's sour taste mixed with the shrimp paste's saltiness is the best combination ever!



8. Isaw ng Baboy at Manok (Pig and Chicken's intestine)

it is a delicacy and you Are not a filipino if you haven't eat this food it is paired up with vinegar and is very delicious!


9. Fishballs, squidballs,chickenballs kikiam
this is often found on the streets and is very delicous!



10. Kwek-kwek and tokneneng

Kwek kwek are quail boiled eggs dipped on orange batter while tokneneng are chicken or duck boiled eggs. Thery are deep fried until crispy. Same with fish balls, squid balls and chicken balls, they can be easily seen in the streets near schools.





11. Calamares

Breaded squid rings that are deep fried. This is very famous to Filipinos since they use it for pulutan or dry finger food that accompany alcohol drinks.



12. Balut
Balut are hard boiled 3 week old duck egg. The looks of it are not quite good since the nearly formed embryo can be seen. However, balut are very high in protein and aphrodisiac. Proper way of eating balut is to suck the amniotic fluid before peeling it off. It is best toeat the chick and yolk with vinegar and salt.
